This seems to be a re-wording of the ancient cliché “European democracies Vs Asiatic tyrannies”, that may well stretch aaaall the way to Herodotus and Greco-Persian wars.

Yeah, this person is on that high level of reactionary.

stretch aaaall the way to Herodotus and Greco-Persian wars.

It seriously does. Fun fact is that if you ignore this part, which was paid by Athens, the rest of Herodotus work about east is not even bad for his times.

I vaguely recall from Isaac Deutscher’s book on Trotsky (the first volume) that the Soviets withdrew from the fighting in WWI. Promising withdrawal was one of the reasons for the first revolution.

    Is that right?

If so, that doesn’t sound like ‘defeat’ in the same way as, say, Nazi Germany was later defeated in WWII.

After the February Revolution, the new provisional government has signed a peace treaty outside of the Entente (separate peace I think is the term). However, the terms of the treaty were quite horrendous and caused a substantial loss of territory, among other things.

it’s rampant for sure. and the biggest issue is that youtube is so eager to spread this fuckery. the amount of channels i have to block to “delib” my recommended video feed is insane. it’s sad to know that these kids browsing youtube will enevitably go down the same two routes: the “ben shapiro/jordan peterson/andrew tate destroys xyz with facts and logic” or the breadtube/vaushite/contrapoints pipeline that leads them to consuming this glowy mc-carthyite psyop

As if Absolutist Monarchies only existed in Russia prior to the 20th century 😑😒 Don’t look into the history of France, Germany or Belgium.

I mean, pretty sure comrades here on lemmygrad have expressed their distaste with schooling and narratives it pushes.

I hate Kraut so much. Not only is he smug lib to the absolute max, hes also just bad at history either on purpose to frame a narrative or through incompetence. Every single one of his videos ends up on the bad history subreddit and is torn to shreds with the amount of bogus sourcing, outright lies, claims without a source, etc that’s in his videos. But because he has animators draw cute little balls and has a fake fancy brit accent, people listen to him.

Also he’s a crypto fascist that used to do anti-sjw videos, but that goes with the territory here.

If you are interested in history, please for the love of God just read a book. Don’t take this regurgitated crap from these incompetent smug YouTube personalities.

Imagine being so bad at history that even libs on reddit would tear you apart
