Seems a waste of time. They’ll have to change it again in a couple more months

The Wikipedia article on what constitutes a recession has been edited.

The new version essentially says “um ackshually this little-known non-profit gets to decide when the US is in a recession, so the US isn’t actually in a recession, everyone :D”

Also, the article has been locked, so only certain people may edit, and potentially remove, this information.

Essentially, it’s pure copium: “as long as we say we’re doing fine, we’re doing fine”

“These gentlemen think that when they have changed the names of things they have changed the things themselves.”

What does it even matter if 2 quarters of contraction are called a recession or not?

Well the conversation’s been shifted from how bad the state of the economy is to semantics, wikipedia and what that state should be called, so I guess the distraction was successful.
