Can we please talk openly about who the mods are here vs there? I dont wanna bother getting invested here if its the same hacks currently running the sub. I understand we want to pipeline people to here.

But I cannot possibly trust anyone currently running that sub and the secret police type tactics they’re currently using against folks.

The subreddit is already on death row and the mods are trying to salvage whatever they can expecting to be axed a bit later so they can direct more folks to retreat to alternative platforms. I don’t think it’s unreasonable as a tactic for the time being.

I’m not sure how comprehensive it is, but moderation log is publicly available so we don’t have to wait that much for secret police records to get public. Check the site footer for the link.

yeah, mod log is a huge benefit. But without a way to protest mod actions we arent in favor of…

like its better than reddit. but not by much

They just removed my post about how a russo phobic sub was banned, citing no reason

ok. So theoretically we have the same mods here as we do there. @Based_grandma69 can we have some sort of explanation?

Locking threads without reason or warning. shadowbanning users (even other mods) without explanation or even informing them.

        shadowbanning users

subreddit mods can’t shadowban, that’s an admin only thing

Yeah the Reddit admins are getting very hands on in banning users and not even giving a reason

the sub mods are also doing this though

the sub mods said they DID shadowban people. So that must be an old rule. mods can definitely shadowban now on reddit.

I’m asking to see if this is an issue. If /r/GZD is somehow not banned, then even if they’re forced to adopt pro-NATO modding practices, they could still serve to funnel people towards lemmygrad, which doesn’t have to tow a pro-NATO line like every “left” sub left on reddit.

It certainly COULD. but how could we possibly trust that with all the secret police bullshit they’re currently doing? How are the same people banning and blocking us over there wanting to help us here? Makes no sense.

Reddit removed the accounts of nearly their entire mod team so I have no idea what you’re referring to.

the mods there ARE the mods here. So can we please have some explanation @muad_dibber@lemmygrad.ml ? the @ process on here is so strange, i think i got it right that time

Why are you asking me? Ask them.

Thats what they’ve been saying, but who knows. Itd be just as easy to send messages explaining why things were taken down and im immediately suspicious that they arent doing that.

its not. That sub is dead now. My problem is that this place has the SAME mods. So if they’re willing to do that sneaky shit there, i am not sure I want to be invested here. Know what i mean?

Yeah, Im sure they’ll allow more stuff here. They might even make this place great. But Im just so suspicious of the tactics they’re using there. Those are the types of folks that turn in commies to the police “for the greater good”

Don’t talk about Russia/Ukraine on GZD anymore. Go back to talking about Marxist-Leninism and China etc, they leave that alone, generally. Ukraine is too hot.

I agree tbh, I really didn’t like what they were conveying with the pinned post on r/GZD. It sounds like they’re planning on doing some damage control that most of the users on the sub might find neither useful, nor true to the sub’s purpose.
