“Che Guevara was a complex historic figure. Honouring him commemorates some ideas, while deeply troubling for others.”
exactly who is he deeply troubling? why are people like this? they are offended by the mere image of communism (i don’t mean the image hung on the wall, i mean the image of che guevara being communist).
To my understanding, Maoists believe the propaganda that the US used about the Cuban revolution, that they were just puppets of the evil “social imperialist” USSR.
Hoxha thought the Cubans were nationalist revisionists, but I don’t think Che would be seen as a Khrushchevite except in the sense of working with the Soviets

Do not click to see replies to that particular tweet, (CW extreme scumbaggery), but i will at least post the one funny:
There’s definitely worse, and he’s not a Maoist. Don’t some Maoists denounce him as a Khrushchevite revisionist or something?

Depends, do we have any photos of Che holding corn?
Ask them about fucking Washington next. They are “troubled” by the people who freed slaves much more than they are troubled by those who kept slaves.
Maybe certain medical students who feel pressured to drop out and engage in praxis? That would be an interesting twist.
EDIT: Need to word it to exclude Hakim and other comrades
