Lmao I wonder why Taiwan claims its china and not that its an independent country. Surely not because of the threats.

They should visit Puerto Rico, it wouldn’t cause a temper tantrum and would hopefully inspire Puerto Rico to stand up against the imperialist country thats got them by the balls like Taiwan is trying to do.

Y’all simp over a billionaire who’s so thin skinned he banned Peppa Pig and Winnie the Poo.

If only you could go to Chinese Google (Baidu) and, you know, type in Winnie the Pooh maybe? Would be awesome if you could.

Taiwan (KMT) has claimed to be China since 1949. The US used this claim to deny the PRC legitimacy in the United Nations, until Nixon and eventually Carter gave up the bullshit.

In fairness the KMT/PRC mutual illegitimacy thing was, as I pointed out earlier, bilateral. The US had to choose one, so of course it chose the capitalist imperial dictatorship. Birds of a feather etc. etc.

You dont care about Taiwan one way or another. You care about being spared from your fear of the Chinese boogeyman and see Taiwan as a problem for China. Something that might make China weak.

Something tells me that the yanks aint got the grit to lay down their lives for some tiny island astroturfed by some separatist party backed with western money.

Taiwan aint making it out alive if the west wants to step to China.

Id tell you to think on that; but you clearly dont care about the folks that live in Taiwan.

There’s no version of this where Taiwan gets to be a US naval base and lives.

There is a lot to unpack here, and most of it is nonsense. To go chronologically:

“Lmao I wonder why Taiwan claims its china and not that its an independent country. Surely not because of the threats.” Taiwan has claimed to be China long before any threats. If you had actually read my comment before going on a senile rant, you would know that the deal between Taiwan and the PRC was formed bilaterally at the end of the civil war. There was no ‘threatening’ at that time. China simply did not have the capability to mount a naval invasion. So, yes. Surely it is not because of the threats.

“They should visit Puerto Rico, it wouldn’t cause a temper tantrum”. Yes it would. History says so. History even goes do far as to say that they would do so anywhere their interests are threatened, let alone their own territory. Cuba, Chile, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Vietnam… all say so. So yes, it would cause a temper tantrum on a scale unseen in the Taiwan Straight.

“[Visiting Puerto Rico] would hopefully inspire Puerto Rico to stand up against the imperialist country thats got them by the balls like Taiwan is trying to do.” Unfortunately, probably no more than they already do. Such is American oppression of movements which run counter to their aims that any hint of an independence movement would be crushed, militarily if necessary. Hence the false equivalency I mentioned earlier.

“Y’all simp over a billionaire who’s so thin skinned he banned Peppa Pig and Winnie the Poo.” Eh? This is just mindless ranbling without a source. Winning the Pooh was not banned outright. Its use in a racist context to mock Chinese people was banned, under the same rules which prevent hate crime such as using the n-word.

I would strongly recommend doing so.e research into what real academics have to say about China. They are forced to be honest and you might be surprised about how much better China is in reality compared to how it is portrayed. Feel free to just ask if you want some starters. I am happy to provide you with some.
