im not a communist, i just support communists. Being a communist implies a level of engagement in party work that i simply dont have the brainpower to do

Does it? A party shouldn’t just be engaging in things that require a lot of brainpower. Planning doesn’t mean anything without labor.

Mutual aid relies much more on time, labor and care than it does brainpower. The FBI didn’t consider the Black Panthers the biggest threat to national security because of them having really brainy ideas, it was the Free Breakfast for Children program and other community aid that made them so popular and potent.

Not to speak for, uh, @MichaelParenti here, but my local MLs require you to do agitation at your place of work to join, so me as an unemployed hobo with a lot of mental health issues means no join. I can just hang out though, though my participation doesn’t amount to much. :/

I wouldn’t be so sure, providing perspective to those with less struggle is especially important for an economic ideology. Ever notice how many politicians seem so out-of-touch when trying to relate to regular people? I don’t want to see our parties ending up like that. I don’t know their situation, but I think those local MLs are foolish for making that a requirement to join.
