  • tbh, I just got too broke to afford junkfood anymore, so wound up cooking a lot of very basic meals. Caffeine came from this old box of tea. It kinda sucked, and I’m still an alcoholic, but I have massively cut down my sugar consumption.

Maybe start by reducing sugar to sugar-y vegetables with some added salt and pepper and see if you find that tolerable. Roasted carrots or whatever. Onions actually have a decent amount of sugar in them, which is more noticable if you cook them down. Not like… American breakfast cereal levels of sugar, but maybe that will click?

It really depends on how much time you have available and your local shopping options. Check out a local asian grocer for raw ingredients of various sorts if you can (spices). There may also be some lower sugar snacks available (though don’t be fooled, a lot of the savoury snacks can still have a decent amount).

“Diet” drinks aren’t amazing, but might be able to fill your desire for sweet things. Like a 2 L bottle of Pepsi Max has almost no caloric value, but is still sweet and fizzy and shit.

Eat more fiber to feel fuller more quickly.

Generally, I’m more of a fan of gradually cutting out regular bad things out of your life. Like, it’s fine to have chips or whatever at a party, but foods that you have laying around that you just kinda graze on are pernicious as hell.
