Avatar is definitely a film franchise where the hate feels very performative. Whenever I see people who dislike them, they can’t really articulate why. They just say vague statements like “The plot was bad” or “I can’t remember anything”. which really just means you weren’t paying attention to start with.

They can’t actively kill dissidents anymore, bad look. So they just try to starve them out.
