to be fair, I do feel like a lot of people here ignore japanese war crimes, to the extent I got downvoted when I brought them up.
The comment you are (probably) refering to could be easily read as justification for the nukes (although this propably wasn’t your intention). I think that this what people took offence at, not mentioning Japanese warcrimes.
Because Japan was mostly attacking the Chinese and Koreans, both of which are still western enemies. (Well only half of Korea but you get my point)
