Swap Bill Gates and Stalin and this would be accurate.
The Khmer Rouge executed monks, destroyed temples and pagodas, killed people who were discovered praying or expressing religious sentiment and forced Muslims to eat pork and killed them if they refused.
Stalin’s government never did any of this, so why is he here? If anything, Pol Pot should take Stalin’s role in this image.

If either of them had led a revolution and then assumed leadership of the new revolutionary state they would be just as hated by your average western lib as Stalin. The only difference between a “good” revolutionary and a bad one in the eyes of the western left is whether they fail or succeed.
Failure is practically worshipped as a saintly virtue while successful revolution and seizure of state power is seen as the work of the devil himself.
