      So for weeks the nationalist party Vlaams Belang was certain of winning the elections, becoming the biggest party. Their militias were insufferable with their racist Nazi memes about ‘left wing tears’ today.

      They fumbled it. The neolibs won. We, the communists, even beat them in their home ground Antwerp. Don’t get me wrong they will still be the second largest party, but that will probably prevent them from governing as there are now ways around them. So, in short, the fucked up the elections.

          Unoficially armed but they pose with weaponry at shooting ranges, post vids of themselves at fight clubs and not too long ago one of their affiliates got killed by a police raid at which they found assault rifles and such. So, yes probably armed and ready to take action. One of my contacts told me they are, in secret, practising for a race war.

            This is scary, not the first time I hear this. There were loads of nazi “memes” floating around 2015-2016 about “the upcoming race war”, and then it fizzled out after Trump’s inauguration. I thought even these turds realized that’s a pipe dream, but seems they’re set to make it happen. It’s insane and makes my blood boil to think these people exist

        So now your party will try to form a majority with the biggest party in Belgium to try to bypass the right wingers? And if so, do you feel like that can lead to good results or are the centrists there likely to just join the right?

        I know that in my country the center would be onboard with the right for anything, given proper payment, so I was wondering about the situation there.

          As it stand now the biggest party NVA, a neoliberal nationalist party, could get a majority on their beloved Flanders level together with Vlaams Belang, the far right Nazis. They said they would never do it, but I think they actually will do it.

          On a national level it gets trickier and they would need other parties for a majority. Probably Christian Democrats and a Socdem one.

          One of my fears has come true as our leader just said that he is looking forward to a call from NVA to talk about forming a government. I vomited a little honestly and I am not sure what I will do if they hop on a right wing government all of a sudden.

          In Wallonia and Brussels Area we might govern or we might not, but it would be less hard to do so as those regions are more left wing.

            I mean, unless your party could rally the smaller parties for a majority the only real options are working with the least worst option or doing nothing. This way your party at least has a chance to do something while blocking the right, so hopefully the party can take on this challenge and get stronger. Good luck!

    Same in Ireland. No major change though otherwise. The establishment neolibs did surprisingly well.

    Germany’s far right AfD did well.

    Projected results from France put far-right Le Pen’s party around 33%, with 31 seats in the incoming European Parliament – more than double the score of President Emmanuel Macron’s liberals, who are expected to get 15%.
