The epitome of sexual education and liberation: porn.

I wouldn’t have posted this if it was just another lib defense of the porn industry of the many there are on the internet. But someone suggesting that, in the name of sexual education, the state should write and produce pornography aimed at minors is another new level of outrageous that i never expected to find (and now I wish I didn’t).

    Other bad ideas:

    • watered down alcohol for minors (because they’re going to drink anyways, so might as well give a 10 year old 1.5% abv beverages)

    • gambling for children because they’ll do it anyways (EA already leads the way here)

A destigmatization of sexuality, and of sex workers (though not the industry, I think) is important, and should be something approached- if cautiously, due to how deeply rooted such beliefs are held- by socialists, sure. And I think there ought to be a space for porn, if not as a commercial product (at least in regards to actual, human porn), considering that pornographic/sexual/stimulating art is- honestly, probably as old as humanity if not older, and sexuality plays such a significant role in our species.

But the sex/flesh industry has to be condemned, and there’s no way in hell the state should get involved in it.

This point is missing a lot in the p**n debate. The fact that people will make erotic art spontaneously, including filmmaking, makes it pointless to defend the current industry, while recontextualizing the notion of banning it.

I have literally never seen someone joke about child abuse who hasn’t not ended up as some kind of predator, and LOTS of examples of people making jokes like that who DID end up being like, huge fucking predators. Normal people don’t make jokes like that.

Yeah, the main reblog chain circulating builds on the joke, by going on about government porn starting with land acknowledgements, and having PBS style “This program is made possible by viewers like you” interstitials.

      It’s so obviously a bit.

I’m like 99% sure this is a bit. It’s not a good bit, because there’s no way to even JoKiNgLy suggest state-produced porn for minors without coming across as mega sussy… But there’s still a reason why OOP says “I want to see (emph) somebody (emph) be brave enough (emph) to say (emph)”, and why this post focuses so much on how poorly this idea would go in practice.

I’m just saying I can see this bombing at an amateur standup comedy show. It has the exact cadence of bad standup.

Reminder that Tumblr banned all porn on their website because they wanted to throw the entire userbase under the bus instead of doing the bare minimum of moderating actual illegal content that was being posted to their website. Literally taking a stance of “If we cant have our CSAM than nobody gets to have porn of anything” The only people who stayed after that decision were the creeps who Tumblr was protecting.

I honestly dont blame them for banning all porn, how do you seperate the likely tens of thousands of CSAM of people self-posting nudes underaged from the legit ones? I dont think its even possible.

Kind of shows you how fucked up the porn industry online actually is, lack of verification makes it really like an ancaps fantasy, shit sucks.

It was a little bit more than that though. Like they didn’t do it out of laziness, they were actively throwing the creeps a bone.

I wasn’t around for it so I don’t know the details but I remember reading a really good callout post about what was happening.

We even could call it Biden-Approved Porn for Kids. In the interest of all you comrades keeping down your supper, I won’t elaborate any more on that particular train of thought.
