ICJ hasn’t ruled anything yet, but South Africa made a big detailed statement identifying the intent and the evidence of genocide to which Israel’s team responded with what basically amounts to not it’s not.

First off, great username, second off the case hasn’t started yet. Representatives of the Illegal Occupation of Palestine are trying to get the case thrown out on technicality, basically for the country equivalent of jury nullification. Saying “Think of the consequences, if WE get found guilty for genocide, they’ll come after YOU next” in the hopes that certain countries will get afraid and block the case from happening at all.

I mean i’m still worried, because there is a not-zero chance that colonizer countries get the case thrown out, but what seems more likely is that they’ll get absolutely pounded into bloody stumps in the courts then proceed to go straight back to their genocide completely unimpeded.

The person in the cartoon saying “not guilty” is suggestive of a representative from Isn’trael. Note that it isn’t the judges saying that. It is the representative trying to say they aren’t guilty.

Ooo, those are very good choices! I’ve always loved the Greenland shark! The Cookie Cutter is also a very good comrade for laying waste to the US nuclear submarine fleet in the 50’s and 60’s.

I do have to say that Lemon sharks are quite loveable though. The puppies of the ocean, as they also evolved group cohesion brain structures, and by extension commonly become quite friendly and attached to humans.

Holy shit I did not know that fun fact about cookie cutter sharks. I just think they’re cute.

Lemon sharks are certainly in my type 5 but they can get possessive and I don’t like being tied down

Yeah, cookie cutter sharks were attracted to sonar arrays used on early US nuclear subs since the material mimicked the blubber of dolphins and whales they usually eat, and they kept taking large chunks off of the soft rubber sonar cone which ruined its effectiveness.

It caused millions of dollars of damages, and the US navy thought the Soviets were using frogmen or some unknown weapon to mess with them. They only figured it out when they caught a cookie cutter in the act and changed the designed.

This is almost like that scene in Denial where David Irving was on trial and they showed an obviously racist quote of his. He asked how that was racist, and somebody replied, ‘Mr. Irving… look at the words on the screen.

If the ICJ rules “not guilty,” it should lose all legitimacy from here on out- BRICS, or other multinational blocs/forums like the African Union, ASEAN, UNASUR, SCO, Arab League, etc. should then work to create the foundations of a new court, independent of all western imperialist influence.
