Mine is a dark blue-green. It reminds me of the color of the ocean after a storm, when the air is calm and everything seems to slow down. After a hurricane you get the best shells up here. Once I found a huge ass whole conch shell bigger than the size of my hand. I’m not from the Caribbean so it’s quite rare to get whole conches, they usually break apart along their journey north

I love metallic gold because it is shiny and glittery

Pine green. Because it looks good…? Just a pleasing color overall.

I have a lot that are tied.

I love burgundy and olive because they are comforting to me in some sort of way. They are close to very “straight out the crayon box” colors (red and green) but have so much unique flavor to them. Red was one of “my” OG colors and it felt like the “grown up” version of that, a way to feel connected to my past without looking like a firetruck and without being so loud. Olive too helps me feel like I could be indecipherable from nature, which I like on a spiritual level but also a literal level as paranoia ensures having an “out” always feels comforting.

I really love black and white, particularly together. It is duality, the yin and the yang, the dark and the light, two sides of the same coin. It is the checkerboard, the field of “the game” I play. This is also reminiscent of an Americanized khaffiyeh which, as a very Americanized arab helps speak to me. It is also the most stark contrast possible, and I am one who likes to dabble with extremes. It also balances out into pure grey, something nice and neutral and unassuming and potentious but not restless. It is unnatural but speaks to concepts that lie at the very fundamentals of our universe.

I really like all colors, a lot, for very different reasons. I love purple because it is red and blue. I love brown because it feels the most natural to me. I love the color you describe. I love all colors.

Also, speaking of your hurricane experience, after the most recent big one (I can’t remember, maybe it was Florence) I too hit the beach and WOW. It was like a whole FOOT of broken shells, glittering like a platform of jewels that rose out of the sand. Also found a couple intact-ish big ones but they were FUGLY. But of course beautiful in their own right by the sheer amount of fugliness.
