The planet will still be more or less habitable. But those countries that insist on being capitalist (losers) are going to struggle to maintain many things that are taken for granted as weather gets more extreme. More: heatwaves, snow, storms, hail, floods, etc, at ‘novel’ times of year.

On top of already-crumbling infrastructure that will be left to rot for another 27 years? While all those juicy ‘cheap’ resources needed to rebuild things dry up because the global south finally turns off the extraction pipeline?

The good news is that everyone else will join us in agreeing that the capitalist ruling class are a laughing stock and out of their depth. Tbh, I’m an optimist and I don’t think the working class will let the capitalists continue for that long. But I’ve been wrong before, especially when I go off hope rather than analysis.

Florida and New York will be underwater, and every state up to like the western edge of Colorado will be ashen lands from wildfires except maybe Washington and Oregon. There’ll be research into moving the rich humans underground by this point, but it’ll be too little too late as climate refugees the world over burn alive under an uncaring sun.

I feel like the rich would be more likely to research a space ark.

I was in California and I saw the sky turn orange like some apocalypse. Like I was wearing orange sunglasses or something crazy. Then, I ended up moving to New York and a similar disaster happened that was unheard of but due to the raging wildfires in Canada all in the span of a handful of years. Likely that trend will continue so air filters are likely to be a necessary and common purchase unfortunately. Sea levels will rise given that the arctic will be ice free for at least during the summer so that will have severe implications.

Nations will need to cope. On a more opportunistic view, the West will likely be greatly weakened by said disasters (as well as the other wars they will be involved in) while China will likely continue its ascension and thankfully, China is taking the issue rather seriously these days with a frankly astounding push in renewables compared to everywhere else in the world. Ideally, China will be taking a more aggressive role and with the support of the global South, attempt to actually fix the issue meaningfully.

It could be dark, but as the saying goes, “it is darkest before the dawn”

Depends on where you live but in England we had our first 40 degree day last year. Thankfully, it’s been milder this year but I expect that to be the norm as well as huge flooding for most of the country too. It’s not going to be pretty.

Hopefully the Space Comrades will have arrived to give humanity the secrets of Communism, water birth and communication with dolphins by then, as all three will prove useful.

It won’t be pretty outside, but hey! Most likely you will be spending big chunks of the year in your bedroom due to the increasing likelihood of the thawing permafrost unleashing even more deadly pandemics anyway

Look at this optimist, thinking the capitalists will care for such issues and won’t continue to force people into deadly situations in the name of profit

Well Indians will worship the cows hard and then eat each other because there will be no water , no food and rain.
