lightly related, France is having a presidential election this April. I’m wondering how the war will shift the focus of the candidates. Currently It’s looking like Macron will win, but La Pen could still get a big boost as the election draws near.

Le Pen has managed to look more moderate than Macron in 2020, there’s a real chance she could win this time around. Especially as the French electoral system is an absolute mess lol, that’s the only reason she was ever a real “threat” the last time around.
