Why are liberals fixated with calling the Ukrainian capital “kiyv”? They aint calling the Russian capital “moskva” or the Italian capital “Roma”
It’s a silly attempt to “combat Russification”. Because they need to convince the audience that them ebil commie russkies are doing a cultural genocide.

It’s gone from Kiev to Kyiv over here as well. Which makes no sense of you still pronounce it like Key-yef, which they do. Kyiv would be pronounced differently but that doesn’t matter apparently.
state media pronounces it like that, and by chance, all of the free-thinking liberals decided individually to do so as well
