    100%

I just can’t with how fucking ridiculous this war is, especially from the Western side. There are god damn doge pictures on a Pion and Western automatons paid fucking money for this. Hundreds upon hundreds are dying everyday in this war and these wankers are having a laugh spending on whatever this shit is.

This is war, not a Twitch thot they can tip a fiver to write superbonker 9000 on her body. It’s fucking surreal man.

As an American, this is just what war is to many people here. It’s entertainment with a very team sport type of mentality. It isn’t just war itself that’s been commodified. It’s the very spectacle of war that’s been commodified. When Americans started paying attention, there was a wave of Ukraine-themed merchandise that sprang up. There were songs created, performances dedicated. YouTubers started finding any way possible to incorporate yellow and blue into their videos. It goes on and on. It’s horrible.

That’s capitalism for you. As we all know, in capitalism everything gets commodified, including of course war. And of course it gets commodified in the spirit of epoch. In 2022 it include social media with all their consequences. Still incredibly disgusting but not really surprising, especially that it’s not even the first time, Hong Kong protest were commodified exactly in the same way, but less openly and intensively.

    • It’s a literal meme war except the hilarious le bacon memers are delegating the actual fighting and dying to poor Eastern Europeans. It’s absolutely incredible the lack of awareness from the libs about the exploitation that’s happening and the literal gamification of a brutal war for the pleasure of some fucking dweebs living in their mum’s basement, connected to twitter 24/7.

It’s either lack of awareness, because war is happening “somewhere over there”, or the awareness is perfectly in place - and they just don’t think of Russians/Eastern Europeans as “human enough”.
