You and me both. Just looking at the plumetting life expectancy in a lot of western countries, especially where I live in the US, does not bode well for even the immediate future. Capitalist countries are on step 4 right now

China’s rising life expectancy and standard of living are showing that its planned system, and leadership of the economy by the CCP is really working wonders, and might just save humanity from eco-death.

‘Yeah, I am not so sure we are going to escape eco-death so easily (if we even do it)’

Are you trying to insinuate literally every human will die from climate change? Just trying to siphon out some potential unwarranted and counterproductive doomerism.

Makes me think of this quote: “For some people its easier to imagine the end of the world, than imagining the end of capitalism.”

Capitalism doesnt work in a vacuum, and covid has shown how fragile the current capitalist system is. If climate change gets more intense, that will greatly destabilise it.

I def am, my partner is considering it in a few years too. Citizenship is difficult to get from what I hear, but not impossible, esp if you have a decent profession that’s needed.

Not yet too much but I’d def ask on english-to-chinese learning communities, I’m sure a lot of them either have gone through, or are starting the process and know what its like.
