Shocking footage. Unaware Ukrainian troops mistake an approaching Russian tank for one of their own and suffer the terrible consequences. The camera man runs away inmediatly. You can hear the fray of the battle behind. vid: https://files.catbox.moe/7neb54.MOV

I disagree, it doesn’t at all sound like they just wanted to start shit, it sounds like they had a real grievance with an idealistic framing. I don’t agree at all with him that “The war itself is an progressive force towards a socialist world” but I absolutely disagree too with the other centrist guy trying to pretend that these Nazi allies are somehow innocent poor people versus “the rich”.

The problem with these “respectful” crap is that it can be loosely applied anywhere and selectively enforced. Was the first guy being respectful when he accused the other of supporting the rich? This happening in a thread where someone started with “this right here is what makes this community truly different from that redditor horde.”. This kind of shit is exactly the type of fragile modding thing that reddit is rife with.

At the very most it should be a warning. This place is completely fucked if this kind of thing is allowed to continue.

I agree with you. But to make this critique, did you have to call others a moron? Did you need to be disrespectful? I can’t understand why you wouldn’t agree with a “be respectful” rule, it’s the most basic thing for a healthy community. Now someone who doesn’t respect others, neither has an openness towards making a mistake and learning from them should be received with the same treatment.

We will use the topic of the discussion as an analogy: we shouldn’t treat these Ukrainian soldiers as simply poor humans, but as humans who got their humanity stolen from them and became merely imperialist weapons.

The same way, we shouldn’t be lenient towards an user who constantly insults and disrespects others to try to get their point across. We give them the treatment they give to others. Either better their attitude, or face the consequences.

You should see the face I made reading your comment. It was pretty funny.

Now that doesn’t sound very respectful my Anarcho-Nazi friend.

I think I would rather get called a slur than “anarcho-nazi”, even jokingly. Do you ever stop before typing something on the internet and ask yourself “Would I say this to someone IRL? And in response to this particular thing?”. Helps a lot with the online disease.

Edit: being passive aggressive is unhelpful. I’ll correct myself.

That’s a fucked up thing to say to someone you don’t know and has shown no support for nazis. Maybe you should reconsider what you say to your “comrades” and strangers over the internet.

If your intention was to offend me over forum drama neither of us was part of, good job.

Not really, but since you ask in this case it was because you were trying to start shit by making a removed comment, so I responded in kind. SInce you were making excuses for a Nazi apologist it seemed apt.

Edit: being passive aggressive is unhelpful. I’ll correct myself.

            Same here.

We were both part of it. The moderation was over the top and not wanted here, it just makes people resort to making removed sneering remarks instead of plain speaking, as you’ve demonstrated here.

What’s wrong with you? You’re trying to drag me into a conversation I very much don’t care for and reaching hard to call people nazis. You react like a child instead of bringing your concerns to the administration and moderation team. Go back to reddit. Goodbye.

Respectfully speaking, I understand they are being an asshole, but I think banning them just for this is wrong.

If the rules say “don’t be an asshole” and you’re an asshole. What do you expect to happen? I meant it when I said I don’t care about this and I’m no longer unbiased towards this user. If you disagree with the forum’s moderation and rules, I’m not interested in that debate. I blocked that person and logged off. Keep me out of this.

This is another side effect of heavy modding and forced politeness in that it encourages this kind of game playing where you pepper your previous comments with edits to try to appear to be the reasonable party for latecomers to the conversation and paint the other as an aggressor. This leads to a forum of effete weirdos, each trying to outdo the other in feigned affront and “Good day to you sir!” type comments, such as again you’ve demonstrated here.

Nobody dragged you anywhere. You stuck your oar in of your own volition.
