never forget Gandhi was a racist who was very open about wanting to get the English out of India, so India could get the Africans to go back home. Not as a “slavery is bad, free them and send them where they were taken from” but as a “black people are inferior and don’t belong in India”
Sounds like the exact reason why Gandhi is taught to us in school. Except they dont mention any of the bad parts.
He and MLK are chosen because they were “peaceful” and the politics can be stripped out of their movements, to instil in children that violence isn’t a valid means of bringing change. I.E. they’re used to indoctrinate children into refusing to revolt against the state.

I haven’t seen this, but I def will now. I found some papers online that talked about Gandhi’s life that included quotes from him, and talked about his racial and kinda bullshit politics.
