Just weird times we live in. I didn’t not expect this from CGTN necessarily, I guess I’m still pleasantly surprised.

Times is weird, these days… Times are weird, uh-huh… ♪

Apropos lyrics aside, though, at least somebody’s swinging on it; but you just know some reich-winger is gonna see this as justification for the RESTRICT act.

Here’s hoping shit like this starts blowing up and it convinces more liberals of China’s progressive status than it does to convince right-wingers that “China is spreading gender ideology to Amerikkkan children! Close the border!”

It’s funny. We are in a position to weaponize idpol against liberals, because as Amerika continues to skyrocket into the hellfire of fully realized fascism, or at least the mask is falling, the socialist and communist world is getting W after W. Cuba being the most notable. I’ve read that Vietnam will hold a referendum on gay marriage and a similar family code in 2024, and if it passes… I’m very excited, but also very nervous. My point being, Amerika’s backsliding and the global south and periphery are moving forward, generally speaking. It will be… interesting… if by 2030, China is the refuge for LGBT people whereas Amerika continues moving backwards. Not that I hope for that for fellow LGBT Amerikans.

Just speculating on the future. It’s fucking weird. But awesome. But horrifying. You know?

Sadly, I think this is going to alienate liberals as well. They always have cultural opinions that would have been revolutionary fifty years ago, but trans rights are revolutionary now.

Liberals are more likely than conservatives to be LGB(T), though. I just think there’s an untapped agitprop advantage to be had there. Potentially.
