More and more studies are coming out like this, you just posted one the other day I believe. The one about 70% of other countries supporting China.
I think we are on the verge of something very large happening in the rest of the world when it comes to uniting against the imperial core.
I completely agree, in particular one growing possibility is another huge economic crash in the western financial system within a few years similar to the 2008 crash. This time around the world economy is becoming bifurcated because the west tried to cut Russia out. This economy is centred around BRICS and will likely show resilience when western economy crashes. This will completely discredit western system in the eyes of the world and possibly even western public. Incidentally, something similar happened in 1930s when the great depression hit and USSR was largely unaffected because they were sanctioned to hell. Looks like history might rhyme going forward.
It’s like poetry, it rhymes.
Non-shitposty response: it’s still disheartening to see the west ‘uniting’ around fascism. I don’t want to leave the place I call home but it’s feeling more and more like I have to seriously consider that eventuality.
Same here, I’m seriously considering moving out of the west at some point. I’ve started learning Chinese last year, China would be my top choice if I can find a way to move there.
I can’t say I haven’t thought about China, and maybe once I get my doctorate I might even have a decent chance of getting a job there, but my family are here, my mother is buried here, it’snot so easy to leave it behind.
Yeah, I understnad that well. My parents are old now and they’re not interested in moving. This is the main thing that’s keeping me in Canada right now.
Me too but I’m afraid I’m not quick enough to learn the language. It’s so much different. Not to mention the financial situation and getting accepted as an American… I feel like they’d be a little sus lol but idk
It’s definitely not easy, but I figure it’s just a matter of spending the time in the end. I’ve stuck with it for a little over a year now, and definitely seeing some progress. I mostly practice with this app, and make sure I do at least 15 minutes each day.
From what I hear, moving to China is indeed tricky, but I suspect Chinese will be useful in a lot of places going forward. Even if China isn’t an option working with a Chinese company somewhere might be.
Yeah, for sure. It seems like it already is becoming discredited in a way…
Let’s hope it does and that the people can make a change. I’m constantly bouncing between “fuck this, I’m not dying for nothing in a fascist empure, I’m out” and “I love the people and want to fight for my homeland’s liberation”
Yeah, like there is a better way forward for the west, and yet so many people just want to keep doing more of the same. Seems like the older generation is really dragging everyone down. These people really internalized the cold war mentality, and liberalism has become a religion for them.
