New polling for ECFR reveals the West is consolidating – while facing an increasingly post-Western world, in which powers such as India and Turkiye are readier than ever to act independently
Same here, I’m seriously considering moving out of the west at some point. I’ve started learning Chinese last year, China would be my top choice if I can find a way to move there.
I can’t say I haven’t thought about China, and maybe once I get my doctorate I might even have a decent chance of getting a job there, but my family are here, my mother is buried here, it’snot so easy to leave it behind.
Yeah, I understnad that well. My parents are old now and they’re not interested in moving. This is the main thing that’s keeping me in Canada right now.
Me too but I’m afraid I’m not quick enough to learn the language. It’s so much different. Not to mention the financial situation and getting accepted as an American… I feel like they’d be a little sus lol but idk
It’s definitely not easy, but I figure it’s just a matter of spending the time in the end. I’ve stuck with it for a little over a year now, and definitely seeing some progress. I mostly practice with this app, and make sure I do at least 15 minutes each day.
From what I hear, moving to China is indeed tricky, but I suspect Chinese will be useful in a lot of places going forward. Even if China isn’t an option working with a Chinese company somewhere might be.
