When I proposed adding :kijetesantakalu: as an emoji, that was supposed to be the first step to adding all of sitelen pona as emojis, thereby fulfilling this prophecy
if hexbear reinvents rebus, I’m calling it, alphabets were a mistake.
The historical reason is that Hexbear implemented emojis before Lemmy did. Lemmy ended up supporting emojis only when Hexbear merged with Lemmy recently. A bunch of our own emojis are cribbed from Hexbear.
Hexbearians need to bring freedom and democracy (emojis) to the poor oppressed people of lemmygrad.
