Havana Congress on the New International Economic Order resolves to “secure science and technology sovereignty” with Cuba convening of 134 Global South governments later this year
Maybe there will be a socialist version of Redox OS building everything in rust and be more secure from overflows and having a mini kernel. The project is not fully complete but I think it would be great if there were countries building it instead of people on their free time. Of course, release the source code. Also don’t do dragnet surveillance because that just makes the CIA’s job easier.
Looked into HarmonyOS. It’s good that the play store is disabled to undermine google’s surveillance. However, if it phones home to china, the database in china is a single target for the CIA with all of the people in the developing world to get info from. I remember they released the source code for HarmonyOS and there was no indication of surveillance, but I just hope that they continue to understand that when you side with the proletariat and improve their material conditions, you don’t need to keep tabs on everyone.
I definitely agree regarding the surveillance, and good news is that HarmonyOS is still developed in the open. Here’s the site with the docs and source https://gitee.com/openharmony
Will they do a new release of Nova OS?

Even if not, very exited.
Also, maybe they’ll collaborate with China on their Linux initiative and HarmonyOS.
