Decided not to go another night. I thought it over and I figured it just snack onf some kraut, salad, and Greek yogurt and let that digest slowly overnight. Didn’t want to take it too much closed to the Thanksgiving. Might try for a 7 day fast in a few months.

I just ate dressingless salad out of a bag with my bare hands.

I feel no shame in doing this.

What’s the reason you are doing this

There’s lots of reasons I fast that go into play here. I like doing periodic fasts and it’s been a while since I did a multi day fast. Almost a year at this point. I have been struggling with my dieting and had hit a rock with weight loss. There’s a number of health benefits to doing it which goes into why I like to do it periodically. It also just makes me feel good knowing I can just decide to and then not eat for several days. It’s empowering. It’s the #1 thing you can do o to prevent diabetes. Its a hard reset on any insulin resistance you may have built up. As long as you aren’t already diabetic but even then it has been show to reverse diabetes in quite a few cases. Although, in the instance of being diabetic you should be medically supervised if attempting a fast.

It’s also a good thing to experience. We live in a society that is obsessed with consumption. Almost every older culture on earth has fasting as a part of it’s history.many still do. It’s only in the past hundred or so years that people have stopped, and I think that’s really sad. The average person freaks out if they don’t eat for even half a day. Lots of people talk about societal collapse and how to prepare for it. Hell, lots of people are hoping for it, but how many of them have ever gone more than ever 16 or 20 hours without food? If shit ever gets bad and they have no choice to go without food for days how many of them know the signs and symptoms of electrolyte deficiencies and ways to combat it? This is where people will start freaking out and get themselves or others killed. Experiencing fasting, knowing how to control your hunger and yourself will be a huge benefit in any food scarcity situation.

It really puts things in perspective of how ridiculous people sound when you hear stuff like “I haven’t had lunch yet I’m starving” etc etc. Even back when I did omad and working in an office listening to how dramatic and crazy people get when they don’t have their morning breakfast and then lunch 3 or 4 hours later. It really is surreal.

Congrats comrade, that takes dedication. I do 16:8 everyday but I personally find that going beyond 20 hours makes me feel… strange. I can’t describe it but it doesn’t feel good. Also what app is that? I use the app Zero.

Well it’s my 4th big fast like this so I’m kinda used to it now. The hardest part is always the habit over the hunger. I can just ignore the hunger but it’s just so ingrained into you habit to eat at certain times and during certain activities. Like I sit down to watch a show and I just want to be eating dinner or something. Even sleeping isn’t that hard though I will note I tend to wake up in the middle of the night more alert than normal. I just take like half of a 1mg melatonin pill and go back to sleep though. Only felt a little bad one day because I went ham on my treadmill and did like 5 miles because I was listening to a Proles pod interview with Grover Furr and I only listen to that stuff when I treadmill so I was motivated to keep going until I finished it. I went too long though and threw my electrolytes out of balance so I felt kind shitty for a bit but I got recovered after a while and was fine.
