I was hungry asf.

But damn, got some white rice, beef, and some veggies (cucumber and radish) all with that signature sauce that Vietnamese restaurants usually have (I’m not sure what it’s called).

And by the Vietnamese gods, it was amazing.

Just like eating it at the restaurant itself; still nice and warm (but then again, the restaurant was nearby my area).

Came in a white plastic container or whatever material you call it.

Oh God, I look back fondly on that meal I had almost an hour ago today.

I was soooooooooooo hungry too and now I’m not.

How is it that you can feel horrible when you’re hungry (physically and emotionally) and then feel content and all is right with the world after having eaten?

Dunno… Just don’t know…

Anyway, how you all doing? And what did you all eat today (so far)?

Damn, I had a Vietnamese restaurant lined up for asking out a girl today but she denied. I’ll probably just treat myself to some Vietnamese in the next days after this post I feel like I need it :D

Is there a reason you didn’t go to it but chose to use grubhub? A walk to the restaurant to pick up food can be nice and help clear the head.

Because the contents of our stomach, the amount and variety of bacteria, pH level, quality of food, affect our mood. Often this gets us into a vicious cycle: eat junk food > feel like shit > eat more junk food, and so on. Junk food isn’t only nutritiously poor, it is also full of preservatives and bacteria can’t go grow on it, which means bacteria can’t really grow in our stomach either. The food you ordered from the Vietnamese restaurant was probably a home-made recipe using regular supermarket ingredients, that’s why it feels good for you to eat it.

I just made myself egg fried rice.

I should start doing this. Kind of forgot that’s possible, I always get it delivered when I order something. Capitalism really poisons your brain and a lot of it remains even though you do your best trying to fight the years of indoctrination.

Can confirm, recently got out of a depressive episode where I wasn’t able to cook, so I would eat junk for every meal and just feel even worse. Recently started trying to eat better, and include more yogurt in my diet as a pro-biotic. Even just a couple of weeks has had a huge difference on my mental and physical health.

Vietnamese is my top cuisine imo. and that condiment is called Nước chấm, a blend of concentrated fish sauce, lime juice, garlic, sugar, water and sometimes other stuff.

Well, I am very happy for you, that sounds like a lovely meal; I love Vietnamese food. It is rare for me to eat takeaway food, I enjoy cooking so much but it is a nice treat sometimes, if I am feeling a little lazy (not that I am calling you lazy!)
