        I mean it isn’t really surprising that nationalists do that, in their 2 dimensional thinking they just search for historical examples of the strenght of their countries. We have the same thing in Poland, all those descendants of serfs larping as XVII century nobility…

          Yeeah we got these types too, sadly.

          they just search for historical examples of the strenght of their countries

          And there’s the sad and true part, I agree. These types look at USSR and don’t see massive infrastructure projects, don’t see advanced scientific research, oh no. They see the 50-megaton H-bomb, they see tanks in Germany, they see westerners speak of how they all feared the Soviets and jack off to that thought, with no regards to how and why it was the case. And also blame various groups of peoples on the USSR’s demise, with no regards to actual historical analysis.
