    It’s not like nitric acid is one of the most common industrial chemicals and one of the three staple mineral acids, and that its discovery and use paved the way to modern chemical engineering, right? It’s not like it’s essential in the production of things like fertilisers, plastics and polymers, dyes, pharmaceuticals, and explosives for regular weapons, or anything. Nooope, definitely chemical weapons.

    Fun fact: it was discovered by alchemists in Persia and Germany.
