I watched these quite a while back, so there could very well be some liberal bullshit in there, but I remember liking (sorted by from shortest to longest) Inuyashiki, One Punch Man, Parasyte, Kaiji, Monster, Hunter x Hunter, and several of the ones in the other comments
For manga, there are far more if you’re interested
I love tragedy because my empathy problems don’t let me feel sad when I watch/read something most of the time. Parasyte just hit different when I watched it.

Parasyte made me so fucking sad. Few pieces of media have had that type of impact on me. Take that as you will.
Right – I’d add that the Chimera Ant arc of Hunter x Hunter might be a “skip” if you’re not OK with tragedy, and possibly Inuyashiki as well
(Also, the second season of One Punch Man doesn’t look so hot, so maybe just watch the first one)

I was like: Oh, no. I’ve miscalculated.
I watched a few clips on youtube and was absolutely disgusted by what I saw. That anime seems nightmare fuel.
