It really does take a special kind of stupid even amongst reactionaries for a US citizen to go to the DPRK with subversive intent.

US young republican goes to the DPRK to “expose” how authoritarian they are, vandalizes a building then gets arrested for it. Gets botulism in jail ( possibly brought on by sleeping pills ), becomes comatose, the DPRK returns him, then he dies after his parents remove his feeding tube.

The parents refuse to do an autopsy to find out what it really was ( probably because they instructed to by their handlers ), and claim the DPRK tortured him to death. Doctors find no evidence of torture.

Huh I never knew this. I knew about him but always thought of torture really. Even Wikipedia aligns with this, which is refreshing to see

Ya that’s a rare wiki page that manages to be truthful about his cause of death being really uncertain and likely not torture.

The doctor also noted he was treated for the coma, and that he did not have bed sores, meaning he was being massaged daily to prevent them.

Maybe he thinks he was able to prove his point and died in peace

Only the aftermath IMO. Like why on earth would his parents refuse to do an autopsy to find the cause of death, unless US intelligence agencies knew it wouldn’t go in their favor, and instructed the far-right parents not to.
