Netanyahu used the maps in an attempt to illustrate the increasing number of Arab countries normalizing relations with Israel under the Abraham Accords

Earlier this year, Netanyahu’s finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, spoke from a podium adorned with a map that also included Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria as part of Greater Israel.

Original article, discussed here.

I haven’t watched the 25mn long video, but quickly skipping through it only shows two maps in total(, from the tenth to the twelfth minute), and the first one “forgot” Palestine as well :

I have no foot in this situation, so this is just my opinion. Well it looks like he used a large marker on a map for illustration purposes, so I assume he would colour outside of the lines just because of that large marker. Either way after the weekend Israel now has to respond and will probably draw their own new lines on the map, since dialogue is probably now impossible

Palestina tried 75 years of dialogue but to no avail. And now they had enough. This is what decolonization looks like.

Palestinians tried dialogue innumerable times. Just a few years ago there were massive peaceful protests and Israel was shooting not only peaceful protestors but children, medics, and journalists. Israel has no interest in dialogue with Palestine and they never have. They have violated every peace agreement and international law regarded the situations with flippant contempt.

Netanyahu is not some guy making an honest mistake. This is a guy who wants Palestinians dead, exiled or enslaved. This is just yet another small example of him making it clear he has no respect for Palestine. Other leaders across the world do not casually “forget” to draw in their neighbors or have any trouble drawing them in, no matter how small or how poor their relationship.

You are basing your opinion on the assumption than Netanyahu is just a regular guy and regular guys make mistakes. If you learned about Netanyahu and the history of genocide and apartheid Israel inflicts on the Palestinians, something every country in the world besides Israel and the United States has condemned, this would be clear.

Let’s give the guy that openly talks about genocide the benefit of the doubt, sure.

I get your point, but I feel like if he wanted to make a distinction between Israel and Palestine he would probably use a bigger map
