    He didn’t do it for any political reasons - he did it in an attempt to impress Jodie Foster. He is insane, and was obsessed with her. He was inspired by the movie Taxi Driver, which stars Foster and in which the main character attempts to assassinate a presidential candidate. He is completely apolitical lmao
