At work today I saw a Toronto Sun headline on this that said BLOOD IN THE STREETS which immediately told me what this is all about

It’s been really depressing seeing how uncritical the general public is of the propaganda. Nearly depressing, but luckily I’ve been busy enough lately that I don’t really have the time to even ruminate on it, for whatever that’s worth

It wasn’t so long ago I was one of that GP. And had decades of nearly breaking through, before that. It’s demonstrative of how strong lifelong propagandized conditioning really is.

I try not to judge people too hard for it but at the same time I feel like after all the Middle East boondoggles that people would be more suspicious and it just doesn’t feel like people are really utilizing a level of skepticism that’s appropriate. But yeah, I also am long divorced from the media/avenues where this propaganda flows forth and I think I cannot understand being in that state of mind (where this garbage is digestible) anymore

It’s the puritan work ethic, imo. It’s only because of finally having my child reared and settled, being blissfully single, volcel and underemployed/marginalized for a few years that gave me enough time to scratch past the surface sufficiently to have the evidence percolate a smidge deeper and be able to return to subject matter as often as needed.

I definitely agree part of it is existing in the core and just toiling away keeping your head down. I’ve not lived on the “proper” track at any point of my adult life so maybe that helped me get where I am now, but even so I think that doesn’t do much for many. The propaganda machine is a black hole

Then I’m so much more fortunate to have broken through it than I realized.

Any time I see an uprising anywhere in the world, my first thoughts are how is the US involved. This one was no exception. This is a fantastic write up. Thank you I am wondering if you know about their water situation. It cannot be as bad as reports coming out make it seem, can it?

My first thoughts, as well. Sign of the times, and on the plus side, it seems more people are becoming aware of this, despite their refusal to openly acknowledge it.

I have unfortunately not met any Iranian person who isn’t a bizarre monarchist and anti Islamic republic conspiracy theorist ( who believe that the west orchestrated the Ayatollah coming to power somehow).

It’s as if the entire diaspora is brainwashed.

Honestly the best way to find a non loony Iranian in the west is to go to a pro-palestine organization or something similar, becuase they’ll usually be disconnected from the opinions of the community.

They exist, but it’s not very common for people without political education or who just refuse to acknowledge that the US is the first threat to deal with when it comes to changing Iran.

I find there’s always a selection bias like that, most people you meet in the west from the former Soviet bloc are rabidly anti communist too.

Its either a survivor bias or selection bias but yeah, its easier to find a needle in a haystack than a pro-cuba ex-cuban in the US or iranian in this case .
