  • Well, my landleech decided to break off my rental agreement 7 fucking months early so his gf can move in and they can “have the place to themselves” and we share a kitchen which means I basically have no rights. Guess I’ll just have to do what I can and hope I can find a place in this housing desert in 60 days or I’m fucked.

I don’t even know what to say anymore man. You know what’s hilarious? This fucker works at a homeless shelter even though he’s part of the problem. What a joke. FUCK Ontario.

  • I got recommended an SNL sketch the other day where the punchline is that a gay character is gay from this year. They’ve done a ton of homophobic/transphobic sketches over the years. And Fire Marshall Bill and Jim Carey’s other characters were just mocking disabled people. They were always trash. Always annoyed me how Americans see it as some kind of hallowed institution of comedy and talk about it 24/7 when you can find better sketch comedy basically anywhere else. And when you criticize it they’re like “well it’s only made in a week” so don’t produce the show that way??? The one-week thing is such a gimmick.
Big Train is way funnier and it was only a single british season. Kids In The Hall could be offensive too but is way funnier on average.

  • Think about it this way; the wars in the middle east in the 00’s already created a good deal of domestic backlash and that was BEFORE 2008, before Covid, before the Trump era, and before the incoming AI pop, back when Americans had some degree of wealth. Now that the dems and GOP have spent 20 whole years gutting social safety nets, funneling wealth upwards, and generally just pissing off all Americans regardless of their affiliation, there’s simply nothing left to distract them from this and nothing to justify it either.

There are no looping reels of the twin towers collapsing on 24-hour news this time, just a bunch of footage of Israel burning and who could give a shit about that almost 3 years after 10/7? People see that type of thing every other day. Polls are showing that most Americans, even if they don’t see Israel for what it really is and care about the genocide, are just plain sick of hearing about it and seeing their tax money pumped there for nothing in return. Trump’s electorate voted for isolationism and an improvement in material conditions and that is what they expect to see. If the empire were smart they would try and distance Israel from all of this to prevent this but they can’t anyways (Israel won’t let them nor will they let the world forget that they are intimately involved in all of this).

So they’re in a bit of a pickle, eh?

PS. The last time that the state department sold the president on a totally low-risk, short-term military operation that would definitely never fail and it blew up in their faces, and the president got vengeful and tried to discipline them for it, his head got blown up. Just some food for thought. Take heart.

  • None of them do. It’s simply beyond the horizon of what they understand is politically possible. We understand it because we understand that rules and laws and institutions are just tools used by the ruling class that can simply be abandoned once they stop being useful, but to libs elections are the fountain that all politics comes from. That’s why they were so shocked by 1/6 even though dummies like me could see it coming from months away.

So their brilliant plan is to kill time until Trump’s term expires so things can go Back To Normal, to the neocon status quo. I don’t care what speeches Carney gives at whatever Epstein reunion party he’s currently at, he and Canada’s ruling class do not feel existentially threatened. They will when it’s too late but if they are now, I see no evidence.

  • People across the internet (including those on Tumblr) love complaining about Tumblr and talking about how it’s dead but it’s the only social media (if you can call it that) that I actually enjoy anymore other than the grad of course. Been there for like 14 years now and it’s still my preferred place to get memes, art, and discourse. I feel like half of all the popular memes of the past 10 years come from Tumblr.

They don’t try and shove ragebait down your throat nearly as much as twitter or facebook either.

You just have to make sure you follow the right people and be prepared to block a shit ton of zionists. But there are tons of cool socialists on there.

Shoutout to @read-marx-and-lenin, they always know their shit and put lib anons in their place.
