Alright, I know we hate when libs bring up fictional media and compare it to real life but I habe to do it thus time.
This shit sounds like someone played the game Rain World, and then decided to take the philosophy of the “ancients” to heart.
Spoilers for the game Rain World if you care****
Basically in the game, death isn’t permanent and every living thing that dies would just come back to life some time after. As a result, the civilization that lived in this world basically made a religion out of craving eternal death. They eventually find some goop that let allows them to cross themselves put, but if your too connected to the world you leave behind a deformed extraplaner consciousness which lasts for eternity. So these “ancients” use the goop to make massive technological advancements, and eventually build massive biological supercomputer structures and put cities on top of them. They force these structures, called Iterators, to try and find a solution which would be able to completely ascend all life in their world. Eventually, the ancients decide fuck that, let the computers handle it and then all collectively cross themselves out.
Although in the case of these “extinctionists” I doubt their perspective comes from a relatively interesting dive into philosophy and more likely derives from Capitlist Realism to its extreme. It’s the final frontier of not being able to perceive a world without Capitlism.
Essentially declaring that collective human perception of the world must come to and end at the end result of capitalism.
It’s kinda mind boggling how pervasive Capitlist realism is. The point where you reconize that your complete alienation from life is due to capitalism, but not being able to perceive a word outside of capitalism.
They are trying to resolve the contradiction between fulfillment and alienation brogjt about by capitalism with what is basically global suicide.
In California around the 1850s, (and probably other parts of the US) the tactic of deputizing white supremacists like the Klan was the official policy of the state. They’d made “anti-syndacalist” laws which allowed for capitlists to legally deputize fascist thugs to brutalize undocumented strikers, organized by CPUSA and revolutionary unions at the time.
This tactic of deputizing white supremacists is used often by the US whenever the settler population gets too uppity about their “jobs being taken”. The exact group of the undocumented changes due to geopolitical shifts but the same formula has been consistently followed.
Honestly I’m surprised their doing this. Canada is consistently in lock step with US imperialism, so I’m not entirely sure why there’s been a shift.
Could Canadian comrades explain whether the Canadian ruling class has genuinely recognized the reality that the US is a sinking ship, or is this an attempt to extract concessions from the US, or something else entirely?

13·3 days agoIt’s interesting becuase even when I’m aware that another person is wrong about a topic, one that they still know more about, I still interogate their thought process.
For example, I’m not an expert on Moroccan-Algerian politics, however I have people close to me who are Moroccan. Recently I was at a celebration where I got to interact with many of these people, largely all relatives or inlaws of eachother. I’m aware that Morocco is a western puppet, however I’m not well enough informed to make definitive statements on the matter, especially considering the people who were around me.
Anyways, I managed to breach the topic of Ibrahim Traore, who was universally popular among the people there. Atone point I briefly mentioned the AES having had interactions with Algeria, which obviously struck a chord with a more nationalist Moroccan.
This person, went on to explain various different events and their perspective on it. Now, I was aware that they definitely had a tilted view of Morocco as some pan-african bastion, mainly due to their exploration into realms that I was more familiar with. Yet, I still engaged with this person in order to better learn their perspective and perhaps construct an understanding that was actually legitimate rather than a campaign to glorify the Moroccan king.
Frankly I don’t understand why western leftists refuse to even engage with different view points. Even if you have a vast knowledge of the topic, understanding how someone with a different experience has come to understand that topic, even if less refined, is very useful to learning about propaganda. The problem is they’re usually not as aware of their own ignorance, yet they assume anyone countering it is somehow malicious.
That Moroccan Nationalist was not inherently malicious, his live of the AES proves to me that he had a genuine interest in African sovereignty in his heart, yet he was still affected by propaganda counter intuitive to his goal.
Another person I’d spoken with at the celebration was an avowed supported of Elon Musk, yet he also engaged with me, and agreed that China has a system worth learning from, along with praising Ghadaffi as an exceptional leader whom he loved more than any other.
Was his support of Musk obviously atrocious? Yes, however he’d not even read Ghadaffi, which I highly suggested he did. That is a person who is not interested in hurting their working class interest. It was someone who did not have the resources to better understand systematic critique.
I’m blessed to be able to properly discuss the theory and application of Communism in a Muslim gathering and be met with good faith inquires. Yet among fellow “leftists” it can be like speaking to a brick wall.
Apologies for the rant, but I felt like relaying my experience with different ideological actors.

47·3 days agoAnother example of capitalist free speech.
The very notion of analyzing Hamas or anyone that the US declares as “terrorists” is treated with the same contempt as Holocaust denial. Thought termination has got to be the thing that infuriates me the most about anti-communists. The refusal to even entertain opposing viewpoints to empire, instead choosing to take state department narratives at face value, EVEN WHEN THEY KNOW THE STATE DEPARTMENT IS LYING.
Like I know people who go could go on for an hour about how bullshit the western media coverage around Palestine is, but then go on to repeat the state departments talking points for a bunch if other issues.
They’ll still say things like “Hamas is an antisemetic fundamentalist movement, even if they aren’t as bad as Israel” which is mind boggling to me.
Like once I was with a comrade at an organized protest, a relatively chill affair mind you, and this supposedly leftist supporter came around to us and sat down. Me, the comrade, and this leftist, get to talking, obviously about politics, and are giving a healthy discussion. Then at one point the “leftist” offhandidly makes a remark tangentially related to the DPRK, something about Kim Jung Un killing his brother/unce or whatever with nerve poison.
My comrade gently pushes back with something like “I’m not sure that is true” which earns a confident declaration that it’s been confirmed. Again my comrade pushed forward asking “confirmed by who? A lot of the stuff that’s aud about the DPRK comes straight from the US”. Instead of potentially thinking about the claim they had made just prior and its source, our “leftist” friend replies with “I’m sorry, are you defending North Korea?”
Immediately, they chose to terminate even the concept that perhaps my comrade was correct. The three of us were at a protest for Palestine, we’d discussed the media campaign used the the US and Israel to obfuscate the truth of genocide. For all otents and purposes this individual should have been well accustomed to the atrocity propaganda tactics of the US.
Yet when it came time to confront their own beliefs, faced with allies who’ve clearly demonstrated an understanding of political analysis, they shoved their head in the sand.
My comrade tried to reiterate that our leftist friend might want to examine the sources to their claims, but is unfortunately most with a “just becuase they oppose the US doesn’t make North Korea not a horrible dictatorship.”
Now, when it comes to Hamas, I’d be confident in saying that the thought termination isn’t nearly as bad. After the Nazi like actions of Israel, I’ve found that most people who aren’t explicit zionists are willing to hear a fair analysis if Hamas, going so far as to ask follow up questions in good faith. The Palestinian resistance being declared a taboo subject is only in the realm of capitlist owned media platforms.
When you can confidently speak on the topic of Palestinian resistance, which I’ve become capable of doing, the average US denizen, will genuinely hear out your thoughts if their willing to stomach political topics.
Only zionist true believers will try and contest you, but if your in public, it’s quite easy to humiliate their genocidal logic to on lookers. Otherwise, engaging with a zionist isn’t a worthwhile endeavor, as it will only cause you to lose hope in humanity.

Ask Lemmygrad•Are Pro-shippers actually like this, or is this just strawmanning?
6·3 days agoI don’t really engage with shipping drama, as I find it pointless. I don’t really get what Pro-Shipping is there’s a difference between having a morbid interest in a narrative that can be produced from taboo dynamics, and someone who wants to fetishize taboo relationship dynamics. As ssomeone with a morbid sense of curiosity that usually leads to regret I can sorta relate to the former.
Like for example, would people who are interested in a game like The Coffin of Andy And Leyley becuase of its exploration of fucked up themes be considered Pro-Shippers? Or would it only apply to the portion of that fan base who obviously have a fetishistic fixation of the portrayal of incest in the game?
Maybe it’s becuase I tend yo avoid delving into shipping discussions for series I like, but I’m confused about how broad the term is.
My personal view is that a shipper should be examined by the reasons for their behavior. Are they genuinely interested in exploting potential narratives/charecter analysis, or are they just trying to fulfill a personal fetish.
I’m not sure I have the capacity to speak more deeply on the topic or give a more thorough analysis, so apologies.

That is the only part of the write-up I don’t care for. I don’t like unverified sources, especially when the rest if the written work is pretty well argued.

3·6 days agoI’ve hears that the driver was aligned with the MEK, which is kinda hilarious if you ask me.
Honestly the best way to find a non loony Iranian in the west is to go to a pro-palestine organization or something similar, becuase they’ll usually be disconnected from the opinions of the community.
They exist, but it’s not very common for people without political education or who just refuse to acknowledge that the US is the first threat to deal with when it comes to changing Iran.
Congratulations on becoming another year wiser. Inshahallah good things come to you for the next.
I’m unfortunately not well versed enough in EU politics, so the only guess I could make would be, France as a part of the “independent” faction, while Germany heads the pro-US one. Perhaps Hungary becomes a part of the Pro-Russia faction but I’m honestly shooting in the dark.

US News•Map of the Massive Protests That Took Place and Are Ongoing in the US Over the Killing of American Activist Renee Nicole Goode
20·7 days agoI’d say their biggest issue is theory lack of concrete demands tethered to an inability to increase the pressure for the sake of achieving demands.
For example, start with a March for the purpose of removing ICE agents from these areas. When in administration ignores the first marches, then occupy the streets in front of ICE centers. From thee escalate further until you get your demand.
Unfortunately the US protest culture is stunted at angry exclamations, and hasn’t recognized that we need to actually directly pressure the institutions of power.

I do not believe that Hezboallah will be defeated, but I am worried for the death and destruction that the imperialists will bring upon the Lebanese.
This kind of joint assualt would never have been possible had the Kurds not spent the last decade strangling Syria.
The Levant is being soaked in blood and and the second largest portion of the blame falls upon Rojava. Türkiya still takes the plurality, but had tge North not been occupied then the dire economic conditions wouldn’t have broken Syria.
