I’d suspect that if any change were to happen in these countries, it would occur from young officers. Though that’s mainly due to the precedent set since Nasser in Egypt, which has been pretty consistent (Burkina Faso being the most modern day example of this dynamic).

Welp, this is unfortunately turning out to be more neo-imperial trickery. I was a bit wary considering the coup leader was a general rather than a young officer, but didn’t have the information to say it was staged yet.
I wonder if the public can be mobilized in an efficient way.
I feel like I’m going crazy when I comment on those posts trying my best to be open for newbies but harsh enough that my point isn’t diluted.
Like the DPRK video got me so close to relapsing on a very bad habit of mine I’ve curbed in online discussion. Let’s just say I got banned on LSC before and unmanned on the condition I didn’t tell anyone to “walk into traffic for the benifet of humanity” again.
They literally were just reading the government setup of the DPRK, barely even commenting on it. It was purely to dispell misinformation about Kim Jung Un’s role in government. Yet even that level of mild pushback on the narrative surrounding the DPRK causes libs to go rabid. It would be like me crashing out over someone correcting me after I insisted that Pete Hegseth was the leader of the US.
I genuinely think it’s because Madeline appears to look like a stereotypical liberal college student (though their like almost twice my age I believe, seriously they’ve aged gracefully) and pure unfiltered chauvinism against the DPRK. Libs for some reason turn their brains off completely when it comes to that country. I’ve had more success convincing people about basically every other aspect of socialism but getting them to rethink anything about “North Korea” is a challenge beyond all others. I’m still developing strategies on how to go about it.

World News•Guinea-Bissau coup: Soldiers seize power and detain President Umaro Sissoco Embaló
8·11 days agoI hope that’s a good sign. More countries joining the AES revolution can oy help the anti-imperialist cause.
For now it’s wait and see, but there’s undeniably a chance that the 2020s become the decade of West African revolutions in a somewhat dominoe esc fashion.

2·11 days agoDo you have any resources for reading about what the current majority party in Honduras has done? A quick skim of Wikipedia (yeah I know dogshit) looked more based then I was expecting for foreign policy, however I’m interested in what they’ve actually done materially for Honduras.

World News•Guinea-Bissau coup: Soldiers seize power and detain President Umaro Sissoco Embaló
7·11 days agoIs there any information on the general, Horta N’Tam, who is currently the “transional leader” for the time being?
I saw a report stating that the transional period is meant to last a year, but I don’t trust western reporting on the matter.

US News•A graffiti message reading “Israel is a terrorist state” appeared on a wall in Los Angeles, California.
5·11 days agoI wish that would translate to actual socialist ideas present in the population. Unfortunately SoCal is so neoliberal people will patronize you for suggesting that High Speed Rail should be done by a state industry rather than contractors.

Ask Lemmygrad•What gives you hope that a communist revolution will happen in our lifetime?
6·11 days agoWhy would I work towards something I thought was not possible? Sure I understand thebold phrase, “old men plant trees they will never experience the shade of” but I do at least expect to make juice out if the few fruit that tree produces before it’s mature.
I’ve said before that I’m a self interested person, and in my self interested is the emancipation of all people. I hope because if I didn’t then I’d lose motivation to see that revolution in my lifetime.
I’m frankly very interested to see how Iran develops after Khamenei. Unlike Russia, the reformist faction of Iran still holds influence, and the principalists are unfortunately just as willing to buy into privatization. However, after the war with Izrael, a large portion of the Public is sick if any reproachment with the West, which is ne if the reformists main platform.
Frankly I fear for Iranians safety if the traitors and western bootlickers aren’t ousted from power.

8·12 days agoWe can only hope that it’s an anti-imperialist coup, but right now waiting for information is best.
That being said, if anyone has knowledge on the factions or class background of different parts of their military, it would be much appreciated to see your analysis.

US News•Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene resigns from Congress after breaking with Trump
6·16 days agoIts honestly really hard for to imagine the minds of American Nationalist True Believers like Greene. Like I just assumed she’s a grifter putting up a performance like most US politicians, but this honestly makes me think she’s as batshit as she’s always displayed. Which is frankly more baffling and chilling to me for whatever reason.

Anime - Socialism with Kawaii Characteristics•This anime is a propaganda against the USSR, right?
11·16 days agoHonestly it’s kinda funny that my friend and I mainly enjoyed the minor romantic subplot (I’d you call it that) of Damian and Anya. Even then it was entirely something for the realm of fanfics to explore but the story gave us jumping off points.
When theorizing about chatecters is the most fun you have with a piece of media, I’m not really sure what that says about the media itself. At the very least it provided something fun to discuss.

Anime - Socialism with Kawaii Characteristics•This anime is a propaganda against the USSR, right?
31·16 days agoAgainst the GDR would say, though honestly I think Ostania resembles West Germany more than East if you look into more than asthetics.
The main plot is a spy trying to stop the ascension of a Nationalist from a formerly aristocratic family from ascending to power. The existence of a massive class divide where prestigious families send their children off into private academies. The fucked up biological human expirements reminiscent of the Nazis.
To a lib it’s DDR coded, and I suspect that what the authors intention. However similar to figures like Orwell, they’ve made a more succinct critique of capitalist soceity rather than the socialist one they were trying to disparage.

If we wanted to have Socialism with American Characteristics, I’d argue it would mainly involve A concerted effort to decolonize the US.
Something along the lines of.
Those are the first thing that come to mind, but I doubt the ACP chuds would agree with any of these points besides maybe the last to a certain extent. Frankly I’m kinda sick of people, especially “leftists” treating decolonization of the US as if it’s an issue impossible to address. It will take a concerted effort but I do believe that it’s possible to begin reversing the colonial nature of the US. Not instantly obviously, but still in a relatively rapid manner if there’s a genuine revolutionary project behind it.
