I read Red Son relatively recently and was more disappointed in a piece of fiction than I might have ever been. I could almost have forgiven some silly liberalism regarding Stalin as stemming from an uneducated artist, but the portrayal of him as some family-hating pervert violence fetishist passes the horizon that turns Red Son itself into a piece of capitalist propaganda.
Not to mention Superman resorting to literally infecting peoples’ brains with a parasite that makes them support communism, then “Lutherism” (basically techno-ancapism) saving the fucking world. Just disgustingly opaque.

Exactly. But I’ve seen people praise it as some of the best comics evaaar.
The worst part is when people praise it while refusing to do 0 critical thinking about the message its cramming down there throat.
