    I wonder what this would look like with more accurate figures. The numbers for Ukraine are constantly manipulated in the press.

    Additionally, the writer’s priority seems to be to emphasise the number of westerners or their allies that are killed.

    Look at this:

    at least 85,000 Iraqi civilians were killed, but some estimates place that total much higher.

    So why not report the more widely accepted figures? That’s asking a lot of the qualifier, ‘at least’.

      Both sides ridiculously inflate the numbers tbh. But from what I can tell, Ukraine’s 100k dead is apparently not so far off; apparently the US confirmed them. As for Russia no idea. I’ve heard 10k but who even knows.

        We’ll know the real numbers of the war when it’s over, now it’s hard to differentiate reality from propaganda
