The Graduate has been my all-time favourite for years

Pierrot Le Fou and Le Mépris are my favourites from Godard

A Separation (جدایی) by Farhadi is outrageous

La Notte is way too stylish

Fallen Angels is the coolest film ever like literally if any of you like the aesthetic of things like Fight Club then you’ll adore Wong Kar Wai. Funeral Parade of Roses by Matsumoto is a similar feeling in black and white form

Beau Travail is the best analysis of military masculinity in cinema

Jeanne Dielman, 23 Quai du Commerce 1080 Bruxelles shows how the woman is marginalised and kept homebound in capitalist society.

may as well throw in 8 1/2 and La Dolce Vita by Fellini also. The 60s are levels above any era of cinema there’s like 5 60s films in this list lmao

A separation is so good, but I remember it being really sad. Wong Kar Wai rules too.
