Ukrainian insider telegram channel:

In order to divert the attention of the world media from the possible destruction by the Ukrainian Nazis of the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, British experts from MI6 recommended Zelensky to carry out a distracting sabotage on the Togliatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline in the Nikolaev region.

The destruction of the ammonia pipeline is planned to be carried out in the Bereznegovatsky district, where more than 15 thousand people live.

The destruction of a part of the pipe is planned with the help of the S-300 air defense system. After that, the Western media will cover events to rescue the residents of nearby villages and traditionally accuse Russia of terrorism.

The preparations for a terrorist act on the ammonia pipeline are indicated by the actions of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations. In the administration of settlements of the Bereznegovatsky district, representatives of the State Emergency Service delivered memos on first aid in case of damage to hazardous chemicals.

It should also be noted that a large number of foreign journalists arrived in Nikolaev, who, according to some reports, should be involved in covering a certain emergency.

Such a strategy of action is not new. More than once, the West has been ready to sacrifice civilians to achieve its goals, especially if they are not citizens of Western countries.

The resumption of ammonia exports was part of the extension of the “grain deal”. By the way, the American company Occidental Petroleum has already paid for the next supply of ammonia.

Do you think it could only be the West against Russia?

Or are we close to that point where the wealthy imperialist nations are stalling and have nowhere to go but war to secure resources, cheaper labour, and markets? Like just before WWI and before WWII.

Are Western nations ready to turn on each other but are having one last attempt at dividing Russia (and China, if they can get away with it)? And maybe redrawing some other boundaries in the process?

Like, could British secret services be trying to escalate things in Ukraine because they dare not confront the US directly? Or are MI5/6 and CIA/FBI too closely entwined for this to happen?

I cannot see how nuclear war will facilitate a re-division of imperial spoils, and I cannot see how escalating the war in Ukraine can lead to anything other than nuclear war (nuclear warning shots, at least). But what else can the West do? The US has already sacrificed European economies and it has not been enough. How long can Europe / the European bourgeoisie keep sacrificing itself for US capital? I cannot see how this situation can continue without a rise in nationalist European parties that stand up to the US. I suppose that’s the old ‘barbarism or socialism’ problem.

I realise that US capital and European Capital are not entirely distinct; if the US benefits, so do (some / most(?) of) European capitalists.

I can see another round of Austerity in Europe, selling off any remaining public services. But then what?

Most / all of these are rhetorical questions! I don’t expect an answer :)

Reality will be more nuanced, as always. But in case of a war, I see it as a block of Western countries vs Russia and possibly the rest of the world.

One realistic option I see happening is a turn within Europe against the US. Probably not every country, but I can see a lot of them turning around. At least the populations of the countries, maybe not the government. I think many countries are already preparing for this by letting fascists rise to the top in order to protect themselves from socialist uprising. Italy, the Nordics, The Netherlands already seem to be headed towards right wing extremism.

Belgium, France, The UK somehow a bit and I’m sure I’m forgetting some are headed towards the left.

What will happen with this division will be very intersting to see.

It seems, with the results of the recent vote on acting against the glorification of Nazism, that we may now more easily see which countries will be allied with which. (We cannot overlook the ideological role of a vote like this, in beginning to apologise for Nazism at the same time as Western (and Western-aligned) governments slide towards fascism.)

I think you’re right, though. The peoples of each country do not share the ruling classes views entirely, even in the imperial core.

The British elite, for example, are about as reactionary as they come. But the lengths they had to go to keep Corbyn out of power (and he still nearly clinched it; twice) suggest there is a lot of support in the UK for left-wing politics (still tainted with chauvinism, unfortunately). The same might be said about France, e.g. looking at Gilets Jaunes(?). But in both countries, there are also vocal working class segments on the right.

        Time will tell.
