They forced us to invoke IP law, very communist lol.

We sent a formal email to the registrar explaining lemmygrad is our copyright and the copycat website was attempting to mimic us, which went against their TOS.

The host took it down just now but no word yet on what this means exactly. If they still have access to the domain or not.

We will follow them if they try something else with the lemmygrad name.

Anyway that’s that I think.

Their domain redirected to donald trump’s website but it seems the registrar cut that too, as the domain now cannot resolve the SSL certificate.

So on to the next topic, a hexbear user has registered lemmygrad.net (when the .com stuff was happening) and redirects it to a hexbear community.

Right now we’re not looking at taking down lemmygrad.net and we’re not even sure we’re gonna do anything about this one, because it’s not dangerous like the .com was. I’d rather it sends people to hexbear rather than an impostor website lol.

I’d like to get an informal discussion/brainstorm going, if anyone has anything to share on this topic.

Hexbear does not have tendencies different than Lemmygrad. And they have a pretty established record of being along the same lines, so it should be safe. I saw Hexbear folks mentioning doing this so that such "fed’ “ops” things cannot be repeated again.
