Obviously anybody exercising knows that you don’t just do one muscle group, you alternate and get more well rounded in your skills. But that being said, we all have areas that we want to improve on. I have pretty decent arms and chest, but now I think I need to work my traps and and shoulders. I have some notes that I’ve been writing down for what exercises to focus on and what the muscles do. What do y’all wanna work on? I love exercise and talking about it, everyone interacts with it in a different way, gets tired at different paces, sweats more or less, does more or less reps or sets.
I also do full body, just two days a week because I don’t have a ton of time, and also with just various sets of dumbells ( no access to a gym, and I like to roll out of bed and start exercising ) to make sure i can progressive overload.
I follow along to various 10-30 min videos that I’ve found to be the best ones for me, that do a lot of different exercises, but I do cardio, chest, legs / lower body, arms / biceps, back and shoulders, then a good posture / stretching one for a cool down.
Overall it takes about 1-1.5 hours.

I’ve been progressing fairly rapidly, and I’m nearly to my failure point with a lot of bicep exercises especially, at which point I’d have to start eating a ton to add more weight. The main limitation is that I use those hand adjustable-barbells, and only have two sets, so I have to keep tweaking them up as I get stronger.
But I’m also not trying to do powerlifting or bodybuilding or anything, I’d need a gym for that. I’ll post some of the videos, ( cardio, lower body, chest, arms ) that use dumbells only that I’ve been doing in a min in this thread.
Its def way below your plan, and I still have a lot to learn.

I sometimes feel like I’m not advancing as fast as I could be, because dumbells are harder to “program”, and because I don’t even have access to things like an incline bench, barbell, cables, etc.
Is there any of jonni’s videos you’d say everyone should watch?

I think that’s one of the things I like about the full body 5*5 routine. Even if I have to miss a day or two, it doesn’t feel like I’m losing gains because I’ve already hit all the major muscle groups.
Dumbbells are great. I just tend to flare up my injuries with them more than with a barbell.
Rolling out of bed and exercising is the dream! I can get into the habit easily enough, but I just do not have the energy to lift till at least mid-morning. Never have, although (fasted) cardio is another matter – headphones in, quiet roads, and I’m off. Wide awake for the rest of the day, too.
Any favourite workout videos you can recommend?
For sure, I’ve finally compiled the ones I do most:
Chest
Arms
Back
Shoulders
Lower
Cardio / abs
Posture / corrective
Wow! This is helpful.
Thanks, Muad’Dibber.
I think I’ll try a few of these out.
