Philo_and_sophytoGeopolitics•The 2025 USCC Report Admits US Hegemony Is CrumblingEnglish
10·19 days agoBeijing’s recent actions demonstrate that a China-dominated world order would be less stable, less secure, less prosperous, and less free. Such an order would be defined by weaponized interdependence, state surveillance, and coercive control over global norms. It will be incumbent upon the United States to counter Beijing’s bid for hegemony with a positive vision for the future that promotes prosperity, security, and freedom at home and around the world. Meeting this challenge will require not only defensive measures but also a proactive strategy to rebuild U.S. industrial strength, shape international rules, and lead coalitions that can compete with China’s scale and ambition

1·21 days agoDrones in general, given that contemporary war games have shown drones enable less militarized nations to overcome the US war machine both militarily and economically
Similarly, the US is highly unlikely to catch-up given China’s current manufacturing advantage and near monopoly of rare earth metals

15·24 days agoSeems more psychologically relevant than militarily given drone warfare will be the primary medium of any US/Chinese conflict for the foreseeable future

Comradeship // Freechat•Does anyone else feel like they have a bunch of different masks but no face under them?English
7·27 days agoFolks who have a deep meditation practice or an appropriate about of hallucinogens in their system often experience just this
It takes some people a lifetime to build this awareness, so kudos to the revelation
Realizing the absence of an ego is only a negative thing in our western, ego and envy fueled culture. It’s actually a very calming perspective when you realize just how illusory all this is, at least outside of revolutionary praxis
The Questions of King Milinda (Milindapañha). The discussion begins with the King asking the apparently innocent question, “who are you?” Nāgasena replies coyly that he is really nobody; that he is called Nāgasena, but that this is just a name, a designation, and there is nothing to which it really refers. The name Nāgasena refers not to his body, his mind, his experiences, nor to anything apart from these.

Is Mistral any different than it’s US based analogues?

And if we’re not fighting for a more humane world, we might as well be liberals

8·28 days agoGreat work comrade. I’ve been wanting to do some data work on prolewiki, but wanted to avoid scraping the site
Did/can you put up the text dump unto hugging face or GitHub?
Similarly, curious if you’ve looked into running it through a vector database for RAG calls?
+1 to obsidian backed with a cloud storage provider to sync the files across devices.
Plug-in support is actually where obsidian shines because there’s so much extended functionality. Calendars, flashcard creation, etc. imho
Also shout-out to logseq if you’re want to take handwritten notes or a cleaner UI

29·29 days agoAgain, you misconstrue my stance. I’m saying it’s lamentable that Venezuela is taking this path and that it shouldn’t be celebrated. Not that it should unilaterally disarm or not use these weapons to defend itself.
More to the point, the only current path for socialist countries to successfully overcome the US war machine militarily is through asymmetrical drone warfare
That said, no country should be using drone warfare, automated or not
It literally looks like children playing at a arcade machine. And children playing a video game that kills people lose their humanity in the process
https://www.972mag.com/drones-grenades-gaza-chinese-autel/
It’s a sad day for a socialist country to be brought to this point and future generations will look back upon this epoch the same way earlier generations had to deal with nuclear proliferation

18·29 days agoAgain, that’s a strawman argument. I never intimated such, so miss me with unprincipled takes 🙅🏿
Astute readers will notice the overwhelming majority of nations, including Venezuela are against killer robots.
And two of the leading genocidal nations are among the five dissenting nations. When we uncritically support this movement towards automated warfare, I wonder if we aren’t sliding back to a second comintern-esque positioning

52·1 month agoGender plays a huge role in how one experiences the single life. Women are often deeply enculturated towards “having a man” and are judged accordingly. Doubly so for choosing to be childfree.
Women are often seen as “individualistic” or selfish for choosing alternatives to romantic partners, whereas men often get much less criticism regardless of their social arrangement
We MLs need to build a much greater knowledge of AI and it’s uses beyond what these western tech fascists are proposing
I’ve already posted explicitly about this topic so whenever I see some generic pablum about there being no ethical AI I just want to put my head in an oven
In short, look at what China is doing in the space and how they are rolling out the best performing models in the world for free that are so much more energy efficient that they undermine the Nerd Reich AI narrative at all levels
Similarly there’s a range of non LLM ai models for cancer detection, robotics, etc. that dramatically improve diagnostics.
We should organize to oppose the Western implementation of AI, but we don’t need to throw the baby out with the bath water

I’ve read both Capital in the 21st as well as Capital and Ideology.
Imho, just read Capital and Ideology after reading Marx
It’s more comprehensive and wide ranging in its analysis. It’s still very socdem as others have noted, but there’s no other book which has charted the dynamics of the world’s wealth over centuries
I.e. while Marx depicts the original accumulation of Britain in Vol 1, Piketty aggregates the original accumulation of most of the world’s empires, even though he uses socdem framing
