“glass projectiles” is a weird way to say “bottles”

The owner of the property, Gijora Padovicz, refused to renew the group’s 10-year rental contract in 2018 and began a court process to evict the inhabitants. Padovicz owns several hundred homes in Berlin and has been accused of allowing his properties to deteriorate in order to renovate them and increase rents, according to the Agence France-Presse news agency.

I’m actually surprised that the news service would point out how the owner of the property is a filthy gentrifier. Is this a left-leaning news service? I’m not really familiar with German media.

I’m also surprised that they brought 1500 cops for this eviction. I wonder if they originally planned to have this many police or whether they called in more in response as the protest grew.

Edit: I’m excellent at writing things in a non-repetitive manner and definitely read what I write before I post.

Deutsche Welle is German state media, but only targeted abroad, you never see it in Germany itself. Usually quite imperialist, but maybe they are a tiny bit progressive in domestic matters.

Anarchism moment. So sad, but unless they are capable of and willing to defend themselves. Maybe they would have still lost the building, but at least they could have taken a few of the bastards down with them and make them think twice about trying something like this again.
