Is there any possibility to see top posts of previous years? I can only see top posts of the current day, week, month and year, and of all time. Because that sounds like an interesting analysis to do.

Hrm… I think you can when using google bigquery, which has all reddit posts / comments stored, but with just the reddit API no.
