to elaborate, I’m just amazed at how far these people have their own heads up their asses. Highlighting they and them as if it’s some incredible insight they’ve had re political philosophy, like “omg this is just like Nazi Germany when ‘us’ was Germans and “them” were Jewish people! omg guys tribalism/populism bad, us vs them is bad,” etc. etc.

motherfuckin economics and polisci deserves a third designation separate from “hard” or “soft” science, perhaps “pseudo-”. the history of all hitherto existing societies is the history of class struggles, and outside of examples of so-called “primitive communism” it has always been “us vs. them”, class vs. class, in one form or another.
