Yeah, i think Skyrim reference is more fitting - Nightingales there were an inner circle of thieves guild serving Nocturnal, daedric prince of darkness (daedra are roughly equvalent of devils in Elder Scrolls). Their characteristic was having unique armor and weapon, and having their souls taken away by their patron after death.

The original: Big bad Russia want to kill unsuspecting Ukraine, but Ukraine instead kill Russia. Obviously nonsense considering what is happening.
Fixed version: USA want to kill Russia, using gun (Ukraine) held in USA’s two hands (NATO and EU). But it backfire. Way more realistic since USA engineered this conflict in the first place.
