Damn. All that i can say is he is correct in the video when he says that non Middle Eastern people are being robbed of experiencing real music from the different regions of that area.
I’ve listened to some of his Turkish music and it was absolutely amazing, and nothing of what I’ve heard before that supposedly represents Turkish music.

I was expecting much less, and I got a beautifully deep video essay documentary this! I can see so many new colors, now.
Love this. I’ve had my suspicions about some of those channels that call their videos X culture of music and I’m glad to know more now about what’s going on. Also, sometimes I’ve tried to search for authentic cultural music on youtube and find it difficult to know if I’m encountering it because of stuff like this.
We don’t have even the right keyboards to search for it! That’s why I love learning languages.
