Seems to be progressing steadily. Russian offensives aren’t generally very dramatic in nature, they just do a steady push.
What do they mean by “symbolic?” Do symbols in military offensives signify small/meaningless gains? Because if so those “symbolic” wins seem to be doing them well.
They’re trying to dismiss these gains as not having any strategic value, to minimize their significance. Obviously, in reality these are very important strategic gains because Ukraine doesn’t have another line of defence to fall back to, and their northern and southern armies are now being split as a result.
